Our church

At the heart of the village, where it has stood for 800 years is the parish church of St. Michael & All Angels.

St Michaels

Today it is one of eight churches in the All Cannings & Redhorn Team. The church, which is open every day, welcomes vistors and worshippers and their team of clergy and lay volunteers are happy to respond to enquiries and requests for visits.

The school has strong links with the parish church and Rev. Richard Curtis is our ex-officio foundation governor.  We visit the church for special services throughout the year - Harvest, Christmas, Easter as well as our annual Year 6 Leavers' Service in July where pupils, staff and family are warmly invited to share and celebrate in their children's achievements at primary school. Class visits to the church are also carried out within different year groups to support certain elements of the school's religious education curriculum.  More information can be found here with further information on the Diocese here.

Pre-School

The school maintains close links with Urchfont Pre-school to ensure a smooth transition from nursery to school.  Before your child is due to start school, familiarisation visits take place during the summer term.  The Pre-school is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 3.15pm and are able to offer full day sessions for 2-5 year olds.  They also run a popular breakfast and after-school club which operates between the hours of 8am - 9am (includes breakfast) and 3.15-6pm.  For further information and to check availability please call 01380 84844 or click here.

Secondary Schools

The majority of our Year 6 pupils will move on to Lavington School at the end of year 6.  However, in recent years we have also seen pupils transfer to Devizes School and Pewsey Vale all within our local area.  Below is a list of links for local secondary schools that we advise visiting before making your application for secondary school.
