The ethos of our school reflects our belief that the behaviour, relationship and self esteem of everyone is vitally important.

Through our vision at Urchfont Church of England Primary School, we encourage everyone to work together. Each child is valued and encouraged and we offer a welcoming, safe, nurturing and inspiring environment to all.

Our Christian values provide a strong foundation and are embedded throughout the school day. Our children persevere to flourish and fulfill their potential engaging in learning that is exciting, dynamic and challenging. Through courage, children take supported risks and learn from them. We prepare children to become responsible, informed and creative citizens who will contribute with their wisdom and compassion to the rapidly changing world they live in.

Our Christian values strengthen us, encourage us and offer us time for reflection.

Perseverance

When we persevere, we keep trying even when we are finding things difficult or when we do not immediately achieve success. Every day, we persevere in putting the values we have already learned into practice in our everyday lives. We persevere to believe in ourselves to stand firm for our beliefs and to keep going when we are doing what we believe is right.

Courage

Courage is having the strength to stand up to difficulties, fears or hardships and working through our fears with God’s help to overcome the challenges we face. Sometimes it is having the courage to stand by our beliefs and stay committed to what is right and true.

Hope

Hope is much more than wishful thinking or a general idea that things will get better. Hope is aspirational and sustains us in times of personal difficulty. 

Wisdom

Wisdom is different from just being clever. Often wise people have lots of experience and can give good advice to help us make difficult decisions. Some people pray because they believe that God can help them to live their lives wisely.
