Children

Dear Robins Parents and children

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and Father Christmas visited you all?!

This term our topic is “Our Wonderful Village - Urchfont”. We will be taking a walk around the village to identify key features of the environment. If you would like to accompany us on our walk, then please let me know. We will also be looking at different houses in the village and comparing old and new houses.

We will be reading a variety of traditional stories that link to our theme and looking at non-fiction books about features of our environment. If you have any books about villages, schools or journeys then please send them in.

This term is our first visit of the academic year to Oakfrith Woods for forest schools. Please ensure your children bring suitable warm clothes and wellies to school. We do have some waterproof trousers, but if you have your own then send these in too. Please remember to name all items! When returning from the woods the children will be collected still wearing their forest school clothes. Apologies – they may be very muddy!

Mr Herring will be taking the class for ball skills on a Thursday afternoon. The spring term can be very cold so please ensure your child has jogging bottoms, hoodies and socks in their PE bags.

If any parents can spend an hour each week to come and hear the children read or to do some filing, we would be very grateful.

Many thanks.

Mrs F Underwood
